Man and woman toastingThe purpose of the Triangle Chapter of the American Wine Society is to promote the appreciation and responsible enjoyment of wine and to educate its members on all aspects of wine.

We do this primarily through monthly wine tastings (see our schedule) held at members' homes and other locations in the Triangle area of North Carolina, plus occasional trips outside our area.

Two glasses of red wineThere is no fee to join the Triangle Chapter, but membership in the national American Wine Society is required to be a member of our chapter (but not to try us out – read on!).

Any adult who appreciates and would like to learn more about wine is welcome to join us for a few tastings without first joining the national Society.  Simply request to be added to our mailing list (link above), and we will welcome you at several tastings before you have any commitment to join the AWS.  You will be charged the same fee as members for the tasting (usually $15/person), and we usually ask all attendees to bring an appetizer and/or wine to share after the tasting.  You won't believe how good the food is at our tastings!

Should you wish to join national AWS, here are the 2012 membership fees (which include several publications):

Former AWS members whose membership expired 3 years ago or more may join us for up to two tastings to decide if they wish to join AWS again.
